Commonwealth funded Bridge Training for the Tunisian Ministry of Education March 12
Bridge training for the inspectors and counsellors of the Tunisian Ministry of Education
ERIS held a four-day training for Tunisian Ministry of Education officials in Carthage from 27 February to 1 March 2012.
The training, which was supported
by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office in partnership with the Ministry of Education, was the first phase of a broader pilot scheme to educate young voters about democratic principles and elections.
Twenty officials, principally inspectors and counsellors, participated in the training conducted by accredited Bridge Facilitators Jean Hanna and Chantal Sarkis from Lebanon. The BRIDGE elections training module was adapted for the particular set of participants, who will be expected to pass it on to teachers. The teachers will in turn pass on civic education information to their students to increase interest and knowledge of democracy and elections during the country's political transition.
