Bangladesh Election Commission is running a TtF for staff as the start of a professional development program over coming years

BRIDGE TtF organised by IFES Iraq in coordination with Iraq IHEC targeting IHEC staff.

A joint TtF workshop between the Australian and Victorian Electoral Commissions.  Participants will come from both organisations.  The workshop will be facilitated by Ross Attrill, Daniela Capaccio (TBC), Bassam Alyaseri and David Zeplin. The purpose of this TtF is to train a new pool of Australian facilitators, primarily for BRIDGE facilitation work within the VEC and AEC in Australia for internal training purposes. Unfortunately this workshop is fully subscribed and we are unable to accept further participants from outside the VEC or AEC. IFES Georgia, in collaboration with the Central Election Commission of Georgia, under USAID-funded program Increased Trust in the Electoral Process (ITEP), plans to conduct customized module BRIDGE workshops for District Election Commission (DEC) members in order to continue strengthening the mid-level election administration in Georgia.   This is the second set of the customized module workshops; the first set of introductory workshops was conducted in October 2009. Curriculum shall be designed based on the knowledge and skills gained during the first phase, focusing on the dispute resolution, and shall take the participants into depth of the principles of properly run elections.   Five permanent members of all 76 DECs (in total around 380 members) shall be attending the three and half (35) day BRIDGE workshop in period of Jan 22 - Feb 25, 2012. Two facilitation teams, consisting of one Workshop Facilitator and one (or two) semi-accredited facilitators (Team 1: Giorgi Sharabidze and Maia Zaridze; Team 2: Lasha Meladze and Natia Zarnadze; Team 3 (if needed) Natia Kashakashvili and Davit Todria) shall conduct the two simultaneous workshops, in total of 15 workshops, during the above mentioned period. A BRIDGE Train-the-Facilitator (TtF) workshop was held from 5-15 December 2011 in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, for 26 staff members (14 females and 12 males) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This project is one of many interventions by the international community with a purpose of strengthening and promoting Democracy, Governance and Elections in Africa's most populous country. This workshop was part of the series of post-election capacity development workshops that are planned as part of the training strategy of the (INEC).

From November 21 till December 2 we’ll organize a TtF for our regional EMB staff representatives, but some others also attend the course. The lead facilitator will be Mr. Ross Attrill, and assisting facilitators are Ms. Arpine Galfayan and Ms. Anna Solyom

BRIDGE Train the Facilitator – French - Accra 14 – 25 November  2011 Accra, Ghana International IDEA As part of its ongoing collaboration with the African Union host a BRIDGE TtF in Accra Ghana. The training will be held in French. It will be attended by electoral administrators from African EMBs. This project is generously funded by the Australian Government through AusAID. Subsequent to the success of the BRIDGE Introduction to Electoral Administration Course in Malé, Maldives in September 2011, International Foundation for Electoral Systems- IFES in conjunction with the Elections Commission of the Maldives- ECM organised a TtF on 22 October – 02 November 2011 in Bandos Island. The participants represented the ECM and other professional institutions and government departments. Included in this group of were some of the ECM staff members who attended the Introduction Module in September. These participants were identified as potential BRIDGE facilitators and therefore deserved this opportunity due to their participation during the workshop and their demonstration of various skills and expertise in training and content knowledge. IFES provided funds for the programme including funds for course materials, accommodation, subsistence and travel for facilitators and participants and consultancy fees for the international facilitator. The purpose of this workshop is to build electoral management capacity within the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). A Total of 30 participants are in attendance drawn from various departments of the IEC namely, Public Affairs, Voter Education, Research and Documentation and training. This is the first TtF in Nigeria.
