Political Financing of Parties and Candidates

UNDP in cooperation with the Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held a four-day BRIDGE training to ECP officers on Political Finance (PF). This training is part of the Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes (SELP) Project implemented by UNDP and funded by USAID. ECP’s Secretary and UNDP’s CTA attended the opening session along with USAID officials. During the course of the training participants were introduced to the guiding principles and international standards of PF. Comparative knowledge and best practice on PF regulations were discussed as well. Participants worked in groups to discuss and analyze the current PF regulations in Pakistan. At the end of the workshop, participants expressed their appreciation of the interactive and participatory approach of BRIDGE trainings.
