Voter registration Module in support of Biometric Voter Registration in Liberia

Voter registration Module in support of Biometric Voter Registration in Liberia

The government of Liberia tasked the National Elections Commission (NEC) to implement Biometric Voter Registration (BVR). This process will contribute to improved accurate voter registration, increasing the number of registered voters, limiting the possibility of double registration, and improving the identification of the voters on election day.

In support of the BVR, the NEC will organize strong Civic Voter Education (CVE) activities to increase awareness and citizens’ participation in the BVR process. Therefore, the NEC initiated training activities for their staff at all levels (the central office, magistrates, the temporary staff) who will be engaged in voter registration. The voter registration modules follow the previous CVE training.

The objectives:

1.     To support the forthcoming BVR process by strengthening the NEC CVE and VR capacities

2.    To strengthen the facilitation and training skills of the NEC BRIDGE Train the Facilitator (TtF) Complete by coaching and guiding them through the preparation, delivery, and evaluation of training.

3.    To establish a pool of NEC BRIDGE Fully accredited facilitators who deliver high-quality training independently and professionally.

The first VR workshop (16-18 November 2022) is organized for the Magistrate office representatives, and the second one (23-25 November 2022) will address the NEC HQ and civil society organizations. Further, the BRIDGE facilitators and the NEC CVE section representatives will continue training for the CVE cells established in each Magistrate in Liberia.
