IEC Jordan holds specialized workshop on Electoral Operational Training

IEC Jordan in cooperation with IFES Jordan and with financial assistance of USAID implements the professional development program aiming at:

  • Enhancing professionalism of IEC permanent staff, temporary field staff and electoral stakeholders through generic knowledge and specialized BRIDGE workshops; and
  • Developing a national team of accredited trainers and facilitators specialized in elections, which would be able to run professional development program and would be considered a source of eligible trainers at national and regional level.

Specialized BRIDGE workshop on Electoral Training was delivered for the IEC Training Section staff, several IEC section staff involved in coordination of electoral training and field training coordinators during March 2-5, 2015 in Amman, Jordan. The main objective of the workshop was to increase participants’ abilities to plan implementation of the Electoral Training Program. In total 25 participants attended the workshop, amongst them four were female. The facilitation team consisted of expert and workshop level facilitators: Natia Kashakashvili, Samar Tarawneh, Katia Madanat and Naser Habashneh.

Electoral Training workshop mainly focused on planning cycle of the training program by identifying the components of the training program through the training matrix, drafting detailed training program operational plan starting from the budgeting till the monitoring and evaluation of the training events. Participants, through the evaluation, noted that through this workshop they have realized the immense importance of the planning in Electoral Training along drafting its content. Participants, having understood how much efforts the planning exercise involves, praised IEC efforts in planning electoral training program for the previous elections.

IEC Jordan plans to continue enhancing the professionalism of trainers and training coordinators through the specialized workshops.
