ZESN CONDUCTS CIVIC EDUCATION AND VOTER INFORMATION TRAINING FOR ZIMBABWEAN CSOs

With the vision of promoting the establishment and upholding of a democratic electoral environment processes, and more particularly to enhance citizen participation in issues of governance and democracy, the Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) conducted a 3-day BRIDGE workshop on Civic Education and Voter Information, from to 2 to 4 September 2015, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. With 24 participants drawn from the local civil society organisations and key electoral institutions, the course was facilitated by Bridget Masuluke, Rindai Chipfunde-Vava and Zefanias Matsimbe (all accrediting facilitators).
The aim of the training was to introduce participants to theoretical, conceptual and practical aspects of Civic Education and Voter Information including principles and the eight steps to be followed when designing Civic Education and Voter Information Programmes.
ZESN is a coalition of 31 Zimbabwean non-governmental organisations formed to co-ordinate activities pertaining to elections. The major focus of the Network is to promote democratic processes in general and free and fair elections in particular.
