ZESN organises the Third BRIDGE Workshops on Boundary Delimitation in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) organised a Boundary Delimitation BRIDGE Course on 28 February- 1 March 2019 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. This BRIDGE workshop was held against the background that Zimbabwe must conduct boundary delimitation before the next general elections. It feeds into one of ZESN’s interventions as a way of preparing the elections stakeholders so that they actively participate in the boundary delimitation exercise. This workshop was the third in a series of capacity development workshops that targeted both the civil society and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) employees as a training strategy of ZESN towards the Boundary Delimitation exercise.
The two-day training workshop was designed and customised to suit the needs of civil society and EMB staff. Participants of this workshop were taken through an intensive programme which encompassed content on boundary delimitation as a fundamental process towards electoral democracy.
Participants gave a very positive appreciation of the course. Some of the positive comments expressed in the evaluation include the following:
– It was an eye-opener; I never knew anything about boundary delimitation.
– It was a timely delivered training that will no doubt enhance the understanding and participation of different stakeholders in the coming delimitation exercise.
– The course was very an eye opener, we as CSOs did not consider boundary delimitation relevant to us until we participated in the course.
