As part of its preparations to implement the long-term strategic plan for training female employees in ministries, civil society organizations, female candidates, and voter registration center employees, and developing their level of electoral awareness, the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq/Women’s Electoral Support Team held training the facilitators’ workshop during 22-31/7/2024 for (20) members and coordinators of the team to develop their skills in facilitation techniques, promote knowledge in how to use BRIDGE resources and methodologies for electoral capacity building programs and enable partial accreditation as BRIDGE facilitators qualified to deliver BRIDGE workshops in the future.

The main objective of holding the training of trainer workshop is:

  • Preparing a team of TtF Complete individuals who are able to use the BRIDGE methodology efficiently and effectively;
  • Activating the contribution of the Women’s Electoral Support Team in IHEC in the field of electoral awareness for women in governmental and non-governmental institutions;
  • Achieving the gender balance currently present in the BRIDGE trainers’ team at the Independent High Electoral Commission;
  • Providing participants with knowledge and experience to plan, organize and conduct BRIDGE workshops consistent with the rules of BRIDGE.
