The Independent Electoral Commission (EC) of South Africa is rolling out its capacity development roadmap to realign institutional focus on human capital and expertise for long-term impact and delivery to stakeholders. To embark on this roadmap the IEC will commence with four sets of Train the Facilitator courses for staff from the nine provinces and national staff and the third set is taking place from 29 September 2025 to 10 October 2025. The training will assist participants’ knowledge to plan, organise, customise and deliver BRIDGE workshops representing stipulated values and meeting required standards. The EC is committed to achieving its strategic priorities and initiatives that will enable the institution to deliver on its mandate. Capacity development of staff is fundamental to this goal.

Participants will be equipped with various training styles for varying setups and audiences. Using the BRIDGE program, TtF participants will emerge with a broader perspective on conducting and customizing training modules in any setup. They will then be mentored and coached during Modular training in order to progress to next levels. The idea is to expose all participants to TtF and thereafter work with them for the next phase which is all modules in the Foundation Modules.

The platform will also be used as a refresher for workshop facilitators who completed TtF over 15 years ago and getting them ready for Modular training.
