Chad

N’Djamena, 26 August 2025 — The Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA), with the financial support of the European Union, organized from 24 to 26 August 2025 in Eden Park, near N’Djamena, a BRIDGE modular workshop on civic education for the benefit of the National Agency for Election Management (ANGE) and Chadian civil society organizations (CSOs).

Officially opened by Mr. Pierre Sosso, EISA’s Country Director, this workshop strengthened the technical, pedagogical and methodological capacities of the twenty participants, including ten women, in order to give them the necessary skills to design, lead and evaluate quality civic and voter education activities.

Over three days, participants benefited from intensive training based on the international BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance and Elections) methodology, combining interactive sessions, practical work and collaborative assessments. This approach will allow them to raise awareness among citizens, support electoral institutions and promote informed citizen participation.

On the sidelines of the work, three participants were fully accredited as BRIDGE facilitators, a result that illustrates the high level of expertise acquired during the workshop.

This workshop marks a decisive step in strengthening Chad’s electoral capacities. It will contribute to:

Through this initiative, EISA and the European Union reaffirm their shared commitment to support democracy and strengthen local skills to consolidate electoral governance in Chad.
