7 October - 10 October

Liberia

UN Women collaborating with UNDP under the Liberia Electoral Support Project (LESP) funded by the European Union, Sweden, and Ireland is organizing to conduct a three-day Customized Gender Equality and Elections BRIDGE Modular workshop. The capacity-building training will strengthen the knowledge, skills, and coordination of civil society organizations, including women-led groups and election monitoring and observation organizations, in a multi-stakeholder setting with gender advocates and focal persons from the National Elections Commission and the Women’s Legislative Caucus. The training will focus on three core components: (i) strengthening understanding of women’s political participation, the electoral cycle, and international standards; (ii) deepening knowledge of legal frameworks, electoral systems, and Temporary Special Measures (TSMs) to advance women’s representation; and (iii) enhancing advocacy, campaigning, and lobbying skills to influence reform and public discourse. In addition to capacity building, the workshop will feed into a follow-up CSO coordination meeting and the development of a practical mechanism to sustain joint advocacy beyond the training
