8-12 February 2026
Jordan
The Jordanian Independent Election Commission in partnership with the UN Women and League of Arab States, implemented a five-day BRIDGE workshop on “Introduction to Electoral Administration” in Amman, Jordan, from 8 to 12 February 2026. A total of twenty-two participants attended the workshop, with equal representation (50% women and 50% men). The participants are part of the “Ana Usharek” program, which targets university students across the Kingdom and aims to strengthen their political participation and civic engagement.
The facilitation team consisted of five BRIDGE facilitators from the League of Arab States and the Jordanian Election Management Body, including two female facilitators.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the different stages of the electoral cycle, enhance their knowledge of international standards and obligations for credible elections, and introduce various electoral systems. It also placed particular emphasis on the importance of youth participation in electoral processes and explored emerging issues such as the impact of social media, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity on elections.
In addition, the workshop included interactive and practical sessions focused on designing effective awareness campaigns to promote women’s participation and empowerment in electoral processes. These activities contributed to fostering greater inclusiveness, equal opportunities, and more meaningful political participation.
By the end of the workshop, one TtF Complete facilitator successfully obtained her accreditation as a BRIDGE Workshop Facilitator. Participants expressed satisfaction with the training and recommended the organization of additional BRIDGE workshops in the future including the TtF, highlighting their value in strengthening capacities and enhancing knowledge across various aspects of the electoral process.
