In support of the ongoing Inclusive National Dialogue process in Mozambique, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and International IDEA, in partnership with the Technical Commission for Inclusive National Dialogue (COTE), will conduct a second customised BRIDGE workshop from 2 to 5 June 2026 in Maputo.

The workshop aims to deepen the knowledge and technical capacities of key actors involved in the reform process through content drawn from four BRIDGE modules: Introduction to Electoral Administration, Legal Framework and Reform, Electoral Dispute Resolution, and Electoral Systems to strengthen alignment with international standards while reinforcing trust, cooperation, and constructive dialogue among the various stakeholders involved in the reform process.

Following the 2024 general elections, Mozambique embarked on a broad national reform process led by COTE. Within this framework, COTE has played a central role in identifying areas of consensus and developing technical proposals across governance, legal reform, electoral reform, justice, fiscal policy, and other strategic sectors. The COTE is composed of members from political parties, civil society organizations, and the public sector.

Designed to respond to Mozambique’s current reform priorities, the workshop will bring together representatives of the Technical Commission for Inclusive National Dialogue (COTE), electoral management bodies, and the Constitutional Council. The training will apply BRIDGE participatory learning methodologies, including practical exercises, simulations, case studies, critical reflection, and consensus-building activities. Sessions will also feature presentations by subject matter experts, with a strong emphasis on the Mozambican and regional context.
