BRIDGE Training on Electoral Governance and Reform for Signatories to the Political Commitment for an Inclusive National Dialogue

31 July - 1 August

Mozambique

From 31 July to 1 August 2026, a two‑day BRIDGE workshop will be held in Ponta de Ouro, Maputo Province, bringing together 25 participants from the political parties that are signatories to Mozambique’s Inclusive National Dialogue and members of the Technical Commission for the Inclusive National Dialogue (COTE). The activity forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen dialogue, build trust and support informed engagement in the country’s electoral reform process.

The workshop is organized under the leadership of COTE, with the technical and operational support of UNDP and International IDEA.

The workshop will introduce participants to core areas of electoral governance using the internationally recognized BRIDGE curriculum, including electoral administration, legal and institutional frameworks, voter registration systems, electoral system design, and results management. Through interactive discussions, comparative examples, and practical exercises, participants will explore key concepts and reflect on their relevance to Mozambique’s evolving reform agenda.

By providing a shared technical foundation, the workshop aims to support more informed participation in the Inclusive National Dialogue and encourage constructive engagement among political actors. The training is expected to reinforce evidence‑based dialogue and enhance the capacity of signatories and COTE members to contribute meaningfully to ongoing discussions on electoral and institutional reform.
