BRIDGE Rule 1: All BRIDGE activities must be approved by the BRIDGE Partners.  Approval is obtained through the BRIDGE Portal. Therefore, BRIDGE implementers must request approval from the BRIDGE Secretariat for BRIDGE activities as soon as they can legitimately do so.

Gambia

From 21 to 25 September 2026, Soma, The Gambia, will host a five-day BRIDGE workshop on Electoral Operations and Results Management, co-organised by GIZ, the ECOWAS Electoral Assistance Division and ECONEC, in support of the Independent Electoral Commission of The Gambia and selected electoral stakeholders. Held in preparation for the presidential election scheduled for 5 December 2026, the workshop will strengthen participants’ capacities in electoral operations planning, election-day procedures, and results management and transmission. Contextualised to the Gambian electoral framework, including the Elections Act 2025, the training will combine participatory discussions, practical exercises, group work, case studies and integrated simulations to promote operational readiness, procedural integrity, effective coordination and credible electoral outcomes.
