Another BRIDGE Customised Workshop in Abuja

It was as interesting as it was full of suspense and demanding when 30 staff of Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) converged in the Fountain Hall of the prestigious Rockview Hotel Abuja, Nigeria for a 5 day Modular workshop from the 7th – 11th January 2013.

The BRIDGE module workshop  was on Introduction to Electoral Administration was organized byUNDP under the  Democratic Governance for Development (DGD) project to acquaint the Commission members and staff of PLASIEC with basic rudiments of electoral administration before they conduct the forth coming Local Government election in the state.
The training workshop which started on Monday 6th January was jointly declared open by the UNDP lead Facilitator Consultant, Rindai Chipfunde Vava and the Chairman of PLASIEC, Dr Peter Dalop.

The Chairman  of PLASIEC enjoined his members and staff to embrace the opportunity offered by BRIDGE to update their electoral management skills as such would impact positively on the planned forth coming Local Government election in the state.
The facilitating team led by the BRIDGE consultant Rindai Chipfunde Vava from Zimbabwe exhibited high sense of responsibility and great knowledge of electoral administration. They were full of new knowledge, facilitation skills and capabilities which the participants found very helpful in their jobs.
Other facilitators included Bodunrin Adebo of UNDP, Sylvanus Yepe, Chukwemeka Ugboaja and Amina Santuraki, all from the Independent National Electoral Commission, Nigeria.

At the end of the 5 day workshop, participants acknowledged that BRIDGE workshop training was not a tea party, but fully loaded with new and better skills of Electoral Administration which will go a long way to enhance their service delivery.
