Boundary Delimitation module for Pakistan’s ECP
1 November 2017
UNDP jointly with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held a BRIDGE training workshop on Boundary Delimitation from 23 – 27 October, 2017 in Islamabad – Pakistan. The workshop focused on the international standards and best practices related to boundary delimitation. Participants went through practical exercises where they drew the actual boundaries of real constituencies based on the last national census carried out in Pakistan. The significant importance of this training is that it comes before a national boundary delimitation process that ECP would carry out before the 2018 general elections. This workshop falls within the 7th batch of the Election Management Course delivered to ECP staff. 29 participants from Pakistan’s four provinces; Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan participated in the workshop. Six BRIDGE facilitators delivered the training module:
Ossama Kamel – Accrediting facilitator
Aziz Bahadar – ECP Accrediting facilitator
Nighat Siddique – ECP Workshop Facilitator
Saeed Ahmed Khan – ECP Workshop Facilitator
Abdul Qayyum Khan – ECP Workshop Facilitator
Qasim Janjua – UNDP Workshop facilitator
