A BRIDGE workshop on “Elections Dispute Resolution” was held in Lahore – Pakistan from 31 July to 02 August 2024. Twenty-two participants from the head office and field offices of the Elections Commission of Pakistan (ECP) participated in the 3-day Workshop. This workshop is part of UNDP’s Strengthening Electoral and Legislative Processes (SELP) Project funded by USAID. Three of the participants were women. The workshop was facilitated by a team of five facilitators: two from the ECP, two from UNDP SELP project and one international facilitator. The facilitators from UNDP and ECP played an important role in the success of the workshop with their deep and extended knowledge of the Pakistani context, election laws and regulations. The participants stated that they have learnt a lot about EDR; the international standards governing it, disputes that could arise in different phases of the electoral cycle, different alternative dispute resolution techniques. They stressed the fact that all what they have learnt will be reflected in their line of work.
