Genre, Egalité et élections

17-19 August 2025

Chad

EISA Chad, with the support of the European Union (EU), organized from 16 to 18 August 2025, a modular BRIDGE training workshop on the theme: “Gender Equality and Election”. The residential workshop, which was held at Eden Park in Koundoul, a locality located about 25 kilometers from the city of N’Djamena, brought together 18 participants from the Constitutional Council, the National Agency for the Management of Elections (ANGE) and Chadian civil society actors.

The objective was, on the one hand, to consolidate the participants’ achievements in electoral matters and, on the other hand, to strengthen the corps of BRIDGE workshop facilitators from Chad.

During the final evaluation of the workshop, the participants expressed their satisfaction. They said that thanks to the different sessions held, their perception on the issue of gender has changed. On top of that, they leave with clear ideas because their expectations have been met, a step forward that will improve the quality of their work at different levels.

At the closing ceremony, the EISA Country Representative in Chad, Dr. Pierre Kadi Sossou, said in his speech that the initial objective of consolidating the participants’ achievements in terms of gender equality, and deepening their understanding of the legal framework of elections was achieved thanks to their commitment and the professionalism of the facilitators.

In addition, the workshop was an opportunity for three full FTTs to do their fieldwork. The BRIDGE facilitator team was composed of 7 facilitators including 2 Workshop Facilitators (Pierre Kadi Sossou and Laurent Doumla Hibra), 3 full FTTs (Abdoulaye Mahamat Djiddah Khalid, Gombo Breye Houzibé and Kossouahbé Lidia) and 2 Accrediting Facilitators (Véronique KANDO and Baidessou SOUKOULGUE).

At the end of the workshop, the 18 participants each received a certificate of participation and the 3 full TTFs who successfully completed their fieldwork also received their full accreditation certificate.
