Introduction to Election Administration BRIDGE in South Sudan

The United Nations Integrated Electoral Assistance Team (IEAT) in South Sudan conducted a three-day BRIDGE Introduction to Electoral Administration workshop for South Sudan electoral stakeholders to enhance their understanding of key standards, principles and election management techniques that are fundamental to effective electoral practice throughout the electoral cycle. The workshop took place from May 20 – 22 May, 2024 in Wau, Western Bahr Al Ghazal state. Twenty-five participants participated in the training course (Seven from Wau SHC Office staffs, thirteen from Civil Society Organizations – CSOs, and five from Wau IEAT), eleven of them were women. 

It was facilitated by Ossama Kamel, Rejoice Sibanda and Joyce Pitso. Topics included International Standards; Electoral Cycle; Legal Frameworks for Elections; EMBs: Powers and Functions, Guiding Principles and Stakeholder Relations; Gender Equality; Disability Rights; Access Strategies; Operational Planning; and Voter and Civic Education.
