Introduction to Electoral Administration

The League of Arab States in partnership with the UNDP and the Electoral Assistance Division (EAD) has implemented a five-day BRIDGE workshop on “Introduction to Electoral Administration” in Cairo – Egypt from 7 to 11 July 2024. Twenty-one participants attended the workshop. They were all from the LAS staff. Thirteen of them were women.

The facilitation team comprised six BRIDGE facilitators who participated in the preparation and delivery of this workshop, three were women.

The workshop aimed at raising awareness regarding the different phases of the electoral cycle, the international obligations for credible elections, identifying different electoral systems, understanding the development and importance of election observation, the role of observers, and the code of conduct for international and domestic observers.

By the end of the workshop, Two TtF complete facilitators obtained their accreditation as BRIDGE workshop facilitators and one was accredited as an accrediting facilitator. most participants recommended having more BRIDGE training in the future, as it contributes effectively to building their capacities as election observers and increases their knowledge regarding the different aspects of the electoral process.
