Media and Elections Workshop

The International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) organized a multi-stakeholder BRIDGE training workshop on Media and Elections. The workshop took place in Skopje, North Macedonia from Oct. 31 to Nov. 02, 2023. The workshop targeted the election management bodies (EMBs), national media agencies, media organizations and journalists, political parties, relevant civil society organizations and other entities interested in identifying ways of navigating and negotiating effective election communication practices in a changing media landscape. Two BRIDGE accrediting facilitators and an international media specialist facilitated the workshop. A total of 22 participants (including eight women) attended the training. Comparative knowledge and best practice on the different roles of media in elections were discussed as well. At the end of the workshop, participants expressed their appreciation of the interactive and participatory approach of BRIDGE trainings.
