Second Workshop on Contestants and EDR For the Iraqi Elections Commission (IHEC)

The second workshop in a series of two trainings on Contestants and EDR was held in Erbil – Iraq from May 16 – 20, 2015. IFES organized the workshop in coordination with IHEQ and was funded by USAID. Twenty-six participants from the different IHEC departments participated in the 5-day training course – four of them were women. All of the participants were exposed to BRIDGE for the first time in this workshop.

The facilitation team consisted of Ossama Kamel, Sarbast Mustafa Rasheed, Hazim Kassim Nahoo, Khawla Zaidan Khalaf and Haider Yaseen (the last four are IHEC BRIDGE facilitators). The participation of Mr. Sarbast Mustafa Rasheed, the chairperson of IHEC as a member of the facilitation team had a great positive impact on both the participants and the rest of the facilitation team. Khawla Zaidan Khalaf and Haider Yaseen obtained their accreditation to become BRIDGE workshop facilitators.
