Youth NAIJAS … MOUNT THE BRIDGE

30 April 2013

It was a delighted Sunday evening the 7th day of April 2013, when 35 Nigerian youths selected from across reputable civil society groups from the northern geo-political zones of the country converged at Chelsea hotel Abuja for a 5 day civic  / voter information modular Workshop. Bridge opened the door for capacity building for effective civic / voter information delivery in Nigeria. The workshop was a huge marvelous experience, full of exciting, promising and future oriented.

However, it was adventurous and intellectually tasking which is a resource for the development of Nigeria’s nascent democracy. Some of the issues raised revolve around sustenance of our democratic values which had remained an elusive subject of discussion among election numerous stakeholders in Nigeria since 1960.

But with the coming of bridge to Nigeria civil society group’s nay youth leaders are optimistic that with the training received will cross the hurdles of nascent democracy to arrive at the promised land of free fair and peaceful elections in future.
