BRIDGE Workshop for Melanesia Election Management Bodies

4 December - 6 December

Vanuatu

The Pacific Islands, Australia, and New Zealand Electoral Administrators (PIANZEA) Network in collaboration with the UNDP Pacific Office, plans to conduct a BRIDGE workshop for Melanesian Election Management Bodies (EMBs) and relevant stakeholders. Participants will attend from the EMBs of Bougainville, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu.

The BRIDGE Introduction to Electoral Administration module aims to build electoral knowledge and capacities amongst EMBs and stakeholders. The module aspires to provide new EMB staff and interested individuals with a solid understanding of the core elements of elections and electoral practice where standards, principles and management techniques are examined and discussed at length.

This is the third PIANZEA-UNDP subregional workshop this year, following Micronesia in Pohnpei in February and Polynesia in Apia in November. The Australian Electoral Commission manages and coordinates the PIANZEA Network with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
