BRIDGE Workshop for Members of Mozambican Parliament in Support of Inclusive National Dialogue

26 October - 27 October

Mozambique

The Technical Commission for the Implementation of the Inclusive National Dialogue (COTE), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and International IDEA, will hold the fourth BRIDGE workshop on 26-27 October 2026 in Macaneta, Maputo Province. The workshop is part of a capacity-building programme for actors involved in the political, economic and governance reform process under Mozambique’s Inclusive National Dialogue.

The workshop is designed for members of the Parliamentarian Committee on Public Administration and Local Government, drawn from all parliamentary benches represented on the Committee. It will deliver the BRIDGE module Introduction to Electoral Administration. Twenty-two participants are expected: 17 Members of Parliament and five parliamentary assistant staff.

As COTE enters the final phase of drafting legislative proposals for reforms across several areas of governance, which will then be submitted to Parliament for approval, the workshop aims to equip Members of Parliament with technical knowledge on electoral matters and to build a shared understanding of the ongoing reforms to the Constitution and electoral legislation. This will ensure that they are familiar with the content and practical implications of the reforms before they come to a vote.
