BRIDGE Workshop for Moldovan Electoral Stakeholders on Out-of-Country Voting

27 November - 28 November

Moldova (Republic of)

On 28 September 2025, Moldovan citizens voted in parliamentary elections. For the second time, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) implemented postal voting and expanded its availability to ten countries: the United States, Canada, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. For the first time in its history, Moldova opened more than 300 polling stations abroad.

To review these developments and plan next steps for the CEC and partners, a BRIDGE workshop will be held on 27–28 November 2025. The event will bring together representatives of the CEC, the District Electoral Council responsible for out-of-country voting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Centre for Continuous Electoral Training (CICDE), and civic observer groups. The workshop will focus on international good practices in external voting, practical case studies, a simulation of postal voting procedures, and a discussion of the roadmap for subsequent actions.

The workshop will be condcuted by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) under the Moldova Electoral Support Project, funded by the UK International Development from the UK government.
