BRIDGE Rule 1: All BRIDGE activities must be approved by the BRIDGE Partners.  Approval is obtained through the BRIDGE Portal. Therefore, BRIDGE implementers must request approval from the BRIDGE Secretariat for BRIDGE activities as soon as they can legitimately do so.

Customised Electoral Administration BRIDGE Course for Kenya IEBC (Independent Electoral & Boundary Commission

UNDP-Kenya, in collaboration with UN Women and IFES, is hosting a six-day Customized BRIDGE Introduction to Electoral Administration workshop for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Kenya and other electoral actors between 21 – 26 June 2024 Nairobi. The workshop aims at enhancing participants’ understanding of key standards, principles and election management techniques that are fundamental to effective electoral practice throughout the electoral cycle. Topics to be covered will include International Standards and Principle for Effective Electoral Administration, Gender Equality, Operational Planning, Boundaries Delimitation, Voter Registration and Cybersecurity.

A total of 26 participants are expected to benefit from this training. Three facilitators (two international and one national facilitator) will deliver the training. The workshop will be held at the Trademark hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

The workshop forms part of UNDP’s efforts to strengthen Kenya’s electoral process through the Consolidating Democratic Dividends for Sustainable Transformation in Kenya project funded by various development partners including the European Union. This training will focus on the following specific objectives: i) train participants in international best practices for electoral processes, focusing on fairness, integrity, and inclusivity; ii) develop participants skills in critical analysis and ethical decision-making concerning electoral management and oversight; iii) conduct practical simulations and workshops to enhance stakeholders confidence in navigating electoral challenges and implementing solutions effectively; iii) provide comprehensive training on the use of digital tools and platforms that support electoral processes, including data management systems.
