BRIDGE Rule 1: All BRIDGE activities must be approved by the BRIDGE Partners.  Approval is obtained through the BRIDGE Portal. Therefore, BRIDGE implementers must request approval from the BRIDGE Secretariat for BRIDGE activities as soon as they can legitimately do so.

Participatory electoral processes for people with a disability

Lesotho

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of Lesotho will conduct a BRIDGE module workshop for people with a disability on 23 – 27 June 2025. The training will be at Mmelesi Lodge, Maseru, Lesotho. The workshop is aimed at educating people with disabilities about their rights and responsibilities as well as informing them about strategies to use when engaging with electoral systems and processes. It is further aimed at creating awareness on international and regional instruments supporting inclusion in electoral processes.

Participants are drawn from different associations or organisations of people with disability together with IEC Voter Education Assistants. Success will be supported by Sign Language interpreters and guides for those with visual and physical disability.
