Political Parties and Candidates Module Workshop

24 June - 27 June

Sierra Leone

A BRIDGE workshop for the Political Parties Regulation Commission in Sierra Leone on the module “Political Parties and Candidates” is being conducted to equip new Commission employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively carry out their roles. The workshop aims to enhance participants’ understanding of the legal, ethical, and operational frameworks that govern political parties and electoral candidates, while also providing practical tools to support effective regulation and compliance monitoring. Utilizing the BRIDGE modules and adult-learning methodology—renowned for their interactive, peer-driven approaches, role-plays, and contextualized case studies—the training ensures long-term knowledge retention and encourages real-world application. Participants are expected to gain a strong foundation in party roles and responsibilities, improve their ability to analyse systems for registration, funding, and eligibility, and adopt tools such as monitoring checklists. Additionally, the workshop promotes ethical and gender-inclusive practices, fosters collaboration among stakeholders, and encourages the creation of a sustainable support network that extends beyond the training setting.
