Sustaining the NEC Liberia Capacity Development Strategy by implementing the BRIDGE training programme

8 August - 18 August

Liberia

In the previous years, different capacity-building initiatives were implemented in Liberia. Several NEC representatives acquired BRIDGE TtF complete, workshop, and accrediting facilitator. Thus far, building a sustainable institutional framework and institutional memory remains the next step forward. The natural turnover of staff inspired this programme as a crucial endeavor to imbed a structure that will guarantee sustainability and self-multiplication.

The objective of the programme is to establish a capacity development framework capable of further developing, maintaining, and utilizing national and international expertise for building and sustaining the Liberian Electoral knowledge and know-how network through sustaining institutional memory of best practices; always seeking further improvement and building institutional excellence.

In the long run, the BRIDGE-trained team will serve as a backbone of the NEC Liberia reforms processes and custodians of continuous improvement and innovation. Further, the NEC with the support of the UNDP will organize customized module workshops targeting specific development needs. UNDP Liberia Election Support Project works closely with the National Elections Commission of Liberia, sharing the same premises, and aligns its assistance with the NEC priorities and other donors’ efforts.
