10 June - 22 June

South Sudan

The United Nations Integrated Electoral Assistance Team (IEAT) in South Sudan is implementing a two-week BRIDGE Train the Facilitators (TtF) workshop for the National Elections Commission (NEC) of South Sudan, civil society and other stakeholders to develop skills in facilitation techniques, promote knowledge in how to use BRIDGE resources and methodologies for electoral capacity building programmes and enable partial accreditation as BRIDGE facilitators qualified to deliver BRIDGE workshops in the future. The TtF intended audience is representatives of the NEC, civil society organizations and other stakeholders who may potentially be involved in delivering trainings and workshops on electoral topics within their own organizations and externally.

The workshop will be held from Monday 10 to Saturday 22 June 2024.

The workshop learning objectives are:

·    To enhance capacity in facilitation techniques and ability to use broad training curricula.

·    To develop a network of BRIDGE facilitators in South Sudan with the skills and expertise necessary to utilize BRIDGE resources and methodologies for the benefit of a range of stakeholders.

·    To promote networks of electoral communities of practice between organisations.

This workshop is part of a series of BRIDGE workshops taking place from April to June 2024 as part of a broad capacity development programme that aims to (i) enhance the knowledge of the NEC on electoral principles and practices and the functions of election management throughout the electoral cycle; (ii) raise the awareness of targeted stakeholders on electoral issues; and (iii) start to develop a qualified cadre of facilitators in South Sudan who are able to use the BRIDGE curriculum effectively in order to deliver workshops on electoral issues for the benefit of a range of electoral stakeholders.
