Training of BRIDGE facilitators for executives of the General Directorate of Territory Administration

29 July - 8 August

Burkina Faso

Since January 2022, Burkina Faso has been engaged in a long process of political transition in a context of security crisis. According to article 22 of the Transition Charter of May 25, 2024, the duration of the transition is five years from July 2, 2024. However, the elections marking the end of the transition can be organized before this deadline if the security situation allows it. Among the stakeholders in the electoral process in Burkina Faso is the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security (MATDS). The TtF workshop planned aims at enabling the accreditation of 12 MATDS executives as BRIDGE facilitators. Specifically, it aims at

i) building a solid corps of semi-accredited facilitators capable of using an original and specific methodology to provide cascade training for the benefit of other actors involved in the electoral process;

ii) allowing MATDS executives to understand and analyze all the technical aspects of an electoral process;

iii) contributing through capacity building to improving the performance of MATDS executives in the planning, implementation and monitoring of electoral operations;

iv) improving the capacity of executives in mastering international and regional norms and standards in electoral matters.
