The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) with the support of the United Nations Development Programme, (UNDP) plans to build capacity in selected members of staff which are engaged in various training programmes has embarked on building capacity in its members of staff (trainers) in preparation for the conduct of various activities prior to the 2026 General Election. 

The BRIDGE course will ensure sustainable skills improvement ìn trainers and facilitate for the trainers’ knowledge transfer to other categories of election trainers. The trained facilitators will be expected to enhance the training methods and skills,planning, implementation, evaluation and monitoring of training programmes using the BRIDGE methodologies and customized electoral content.

In addition, preparing for the conduction of the 2026 General Election would require training various categories of stakeholders on the electoral process.  There will be need to augment the capacity of the Electoral Commission’s different categories of national and district trainers whose training skills would be enhanced by the anticipated interaction with the trainers who will undergo the TtF training.
