BRIDGE TRAINING ELECTION DAY AND RESULTS MANAGEMENT

A Modular BRIDGE Training on Election Day and Results Management was held in Freetown, Republic of Sierra Leone from the 25th to the 29th of October 2022, for the benefit of the personnel of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leonne (ECSL).

During five days 26 participants of which 10 women, holding the positions of National Commissioners of the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL), Operations Director; and Other relevant staff involved in Election Day planning, saw their capacity built with the  international standards of credible elections as they apply to balloting and vote counting operations; with various philosophical approaches to designing balloting and vote counting procedures; and on the global best practices in Election Day planning, execution, and monitoring.

The main objective of the workshop is to equip participants with knowledge and skills to conduct preparatory activities related to election day and vote counting processes and all aspects related to electoral processes that may lead to the contestation of election results.

Three (3) Co-facilitators, Ms Valerie Arikpo-Ettah, Ms Mariama Toure and Ms Fanta TRAORE, under the lead of M. Doudou DIA, successfully cover the BRIDGE curriculum and methodology.  The participants expectations were fully met and the facilitators having satisfied all the requirements received their full accreditation. The newly accredited are looking forward to facilitating further workshop and grow within in the Bridge network.
